Antonio Conte says Cristian Romero injury is “not positive” for Tottenham after he picks up a hip injury in Tottenham draw against Liverpool.

Cristian Romero picks up a hip injury in Tottenham draw against Liverpool.
Spurs fans were left disappointed when the Argentine’s name was not on the team sheet to face Arsenal, with his place in the central defensive back three alongside Ben Davies and Eric Dier having been taken by Davinson Sanchez.
The defender was ruled out of Tottenham 3-0 victory over North London rivals on Thursday after picking up a hip injury during Saturday’s draw at Liverpool.
As a result, Davinson Sanchez was brought in for his first Premier League start since February’s loss at home to Wolves, partnerning Eric Dier and Ben Davies in a back three as Tottenham sailed to comfortable clean sheet 3-0 victory over Arsenal.
Speaking ahead of Thursday’s game, Conte said: “Cristian Romero received a kick on his hip against Liverpool. It is not positive. We found a good balance with Romero, Dier and Davies.
“But we trust Sanchez and this solution. I am sure he is going to play a fantastic game. Our approach tonight has to be right. The whole game has to be right.”
Romero has had a huge impact at Tottenham this season, earning plaudits for a successful adaptation to the league since joining on loan from Atalanta, starting most of the games for which he has been available.
Tottenham sit one point within Arsenal, and will face face Burnley and Norwich in two matches remaining before the end of the season.
