According to Alasdair Gold after the recent defeat on the weekend to Brighton & Hove Albion, if fit enough, Conte is expected to drop Reguilon in favour of Sessegnon for the next game which comes away to in-form Brentford.
Tottenham lack decisiveness from their wing backs against Brighton as both Emerson Royal, who replaced injured Doherty, and Reguilon failed to make most of their time.
The Spaniard was awarded just a 4/10 rating after enduring a forgettable game against Brighton due to Tariq Lamptey’s presence on his flank.
“I just feel that with his [Reguilon] pace, he should be doing so much more when he gets in the final third, but he was very poor, to be honest, yesterday [Saturday]. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Sessegnon comes back into the team for Brentford.”
” If Conte feels he’s fit enough to start a match, you kind of felt that before his injury he was being preferred, and I think that’s what we’re seeing – goals and assists”. Gold said via his YouTube.
Sessegnon appeared to have nudged ahead of Reguilon in the pecking order prior to his hamstring issue, and Conte could well restore the ex-Fulham man to his team against Brentford.
