Mason Mount opened the scoring after just 3 minutes before Dan James was shown a straight red card for a terrible challenge on Mateo Kovacic.
Chelsea knocked at the door for the rest of the half, but it took until almost an hour to double their lead, when a cute flick from Mason Mount was finished calmly by Christian Pulisic.
