Chelsea got back to winning ways in comprehenseive fashion as they beat relegation-threatened Leeds United 3-0 at Elland Road.
Mason Mount opened the scoring after just 3 minutes before Dan James was shown a straight red card for a terrible challenge on Mateo Kovacic.
Chelsea knocked at the door for the rest of the half, but it took until almost an hour to double their lead, when a cute flick from Mason Mount was finished calmly by Christian Pulisic.
Romelu Lukaku added the third goal in a comprehensive dominant display from the Blues at Elland Road.
Let’s take a look at Chelsea player ratings vs Leeds.
GK: EDOUARD MENDY – 6/10
He had nothing to do throughout the evening as he secured an easy clean sheet away from home.
CB: TREVOH CHALOBAH – 7/10
Chalaboah was given a rare start against Leeds since helping Chelsea kept a clean sheet against West Ham and quickly added another clean sheet to the bag tonight at Elland Road.
Showed his ability in anticipating the ball and keeping calm under pressure and will be in contention for FA Cup Final against Liverpool on Sunday.
CB: ANDREAS CHRISTENSEN – 7/10
The Danish Centre-back took to the heart of Chelsea’s defence to offer Thiago SIlva a rest and performed well.
Rarely under pressure but didn’t look out of place and was very accurate with his passing.
CB: ANTONIO RUDIGER – 7/10
Despite intense speculation he has already penned a deal with Madrid, the German star was not scared to get amongst it.
Suffered an early scare early on with a misplaced pass inside his own area, but grew himself in; made two important clearances and performed well enough to secure the clean sheet.
RB: REECE JAMES – 8.5/10
There’s no denying Reece James is a threat from wing-back and still teams can’t stop him.
Provided the assist for Mount’s opener and continued to torment Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk and substituted Junior Firpo throughout.
CM: JORGINHO – 7/10
Sat at the base of Chelsea midfield and controlled the tempo of the match.
He produced a much-needed tackle on Rodrigo in the second period as Leeds looked to break and brought leadership the Blues perhaps lacked at the weekend.
CM: MATTEO KOVACIC – 6/10
The Croatian evening was cut short due to Daniel James’ brutal tackle.
He made a couple of decent runs with the ball and his inability to carry on could leave Thomas Tuchel sweating for the FA Cup final
LB: MARCOS ALONSO– 7/10
The Spaniards was back in the team against Leeds after what seemed like fall out with Tuchel at the weekend.
Worked hard and pushed forward to provide width on the left.
RAM: MASON MOUNT – 8.5/10
The England international was full of memance throughout the match.
Caused a lot of problems for the opposition goal and put Chelsea ahead with a wonderful goal, then a clever flick to set up Pulisic.
Heavily involved in linking their attacks. A display full of menace.
Mason Mount’s game by numbers vs Leeds United:
100% dribble success
89% passing accuracy
8 touches in opposition box

A double-double for Money Mase. 🔥
