- Cristiano Ronaldo was not with the Manchester United squad on Friday night as they met at the Lowry Hotel ahead of the weekend game against Leicester City.
Manchester United are back in Premier League action after the international break and host Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes as they look to make the most of their final nine games of the season but might have to begin that quest without Ronaldo.
Despite playing over 180 minutes across two World Cup qualifiers for Portugal, the 37-year-old was not among the United 21-man squad to face Leicester as his girlfriend Georgina Rodríguez is pregnant, which may be the reason for Cristiano Ronaldo ‘not with Man Utd squad’.
The 37-year-old has been one of the best performers in an otherwise disappointing campaign for United.
After completing a blockbuster return 12 years after his departure to Real Madrid, Ronaldo has scored 18 goals across all competitions this term.
His strikes have largely kept the Old Trafford outfit in the picture for Champions League qualification with United four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal in sixth.
