Mason Greenwood will reportedly find out ‘in a matter of days’ whether or not he will be facing rape charges after being arrest on suspicion of rape, sexual assault and making threats to kill.
The Manchester United winger was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault following accusations from a woman. He was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill and was held for three days before being bailed.
Now, The Police are allegedly preparing to submit a report to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a decision on possible charges will be made soon after.
According to The Sun, the police are due to submit a report to the Crown Prosecution Service “imminently”.
“He’s still on bail but things are at an advanced stage. The police and CPS are currently discussing if there is a case or not to bring against him.
“There comes a point where a decision has to be made and things have reached that point.”
While the investigation remains ongoing, Manchester United have suspended Mason Greenwood with his last outing for the Red Devils came against West Ham United on January 22.
Greenwood, who remains on bail, has scored six goals and registered two assists in 24 appearances in all competitions this season for Man United.
