Lucas Moura has been a regular starter for Spurs during the 2021-22 campaign, making 37 appearances in all competitions, contributing six goals and six assists, with four of those goals and assists came in the first months of Conte’s tenure but has seen his role limited since the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus on the deadline day.

He has lost his regular starting role since the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski, though, and there have been suggestions that the Brazilian could be on the move in the upcoming market.

However, Despite his lack of action, Tottenham have insisted they have no plans to part ways with Lucas in the summer window as he remains a critical member of Conte’s squad with Antonio Conte a huge admirer of the Brazilian’s match-winning qualities.

Conte told the Brazilian he wants to see more of the same from him after scoring in a 3-0 win over Norwich.

“I think he scored an amazing goal. But he has the quality to score more goals and he has to score more goals in the rest of the season.

“We need this type of situation. He’s very good, I think in front we have great quality with important strikers.

“Lucas has great quality and surely my expectation is to see much more goals like this. But this was a good performance with and without the ball.”

Furthermore, the player has been assured chances will still come his way and they do not want to lose him and despite the arrival of Kulusevski, Lucas will be encouraged by claims that Conte still wants to keep him.

Moura signed a new contract in August 2019 that runs through to the summer of 2024 and has made 194 appearances for Tottenham since joining the club from PSG in January 2018 with 38 goals and 25 assists to his name.
