Tottenham are furious at Charlton Athletic for their handling of Nile John during his loan spell, Football Insider understands.

John is thought of very highly at Tottenham, having already made two appearances for the first team, both of which have come in European competition.

Despite the Premier League giants had been assured that John would be involved more often. The central midfielder, 19, has not had a single minute of first-team action since joining the League One outfit in January.

The North Londoners are now said to be ‘extremely dissatisfied’ at Charlton for not delivering on their promises.

Since his transfer to Charlton in January, John has not featured in any of their 12 league matches and also failed to make the matchday squad altogether on eight occasions with Charlton manager Johnnie Jackson insisted recently that the competition for places in midfield has prevented the Spurs youngster from getting opportunities.

The midfielder’s lack of action for the Jonnie Jackson’s side, who play a 3-5-2 formation, comes despite the South London club sitting 14th in League One and effectively  have nothing to play for as the season draws to a close.

The England under-19 international had been in fine form for Tottenham’s under-23 side in Premier League 2 prior to his loan exit.

John, who plays primarily in attacking midfield, had registered seven goals and three assists in 14 outings in the competition this term.
