Alessandro Bastoni Tottenham latest.
Tottenham pursuit of Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni is in doubt as the defender is reluctant to leave the Italian club- but not dead.
#thfc Perisic stayed overnight at Spurs and is expected to complete a medical & sign a two-year deal today. As it stands, Bastoni reluctant to leave Inter. Deal not dead in the water but Spurs will have to convince him. @standardsport

Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni is reportedly the next man in Don Fabio’s sights during the summer transfer window with Antonio Conte keen on reunion with the Italian after completing the signing of Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.

The Italian giants need to raise funds to help with their financial issues. To that end, they view £54m Bastoni as one of their top assets capable of recouping top dollar.
Even though, the Italian is keen on working again under the tutelage of Antonio Conte, but the 23-year-old hasn’t yet make up his mind on leaving the soil of the Italy he grew up on.
“There’s two sides to this one in that Alessandro Bastoni is understood to be keen to play under Antonio Conte again at some point, but he is happy at the moment at Inter Milan and it’s worth remembering that he only just turned 23 last month so he’s young in terms of his career” as reported by Aladaisar Gold.
But, with Inter thought to be close to agreeing a deal for Torino centre-half Gleison Bremer, the Nerrazzuri may push Bastoni towards an exit in a bid to balance the books, which would open the door again for Spurs.

The Italy international played 41 times for Inter in 2020-21 as Conte led the club to an historic Scudetto win and has remained a regular under Simone Inzaghi this term.
He’s one of the best young defenders in Italy right now, and would bring added quality to the left side of Tottenham’s back three to complement Romero’s strength and quality on the other side.
“They see him as a potential heir to Jan Vertonghen with a similar skilful style to the Belgian in being a ball-playing defender rather than an aggressive one like Romero.” football.london understands.
But, in case Bastoni does dig his heels in and decides it’s not the right moment for a move, Sportsmail understands Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Red Bull Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol are alternatives.
