Tottenham Hotspur are now willing to listen to offers for 24-year-old central defender Joe Rodon this summer amid recent links to Newcastle United and Leeds United.
Rodon joined Tottenham from Swansea with a lot of promise for a fee of £10million in 2020.
Whilst there have been promising moments from the 24-year-old, he hasn’t been able to nail down a first-team role as he made just 14 appearances in all competitions during his first season at the club.
This campaign, he has made just eight appearances in all competitions. Of those eight games, he has only started five, and has appeared in the Premier League just once, from the bench and looks unlikely to get any game time this season unless there is an injury crisis.
Despite the 24-year-old arrived from Swansea City, he doesn’t count as a homegrown player in Europe and The Telegraph have now revealed that the 24-year-old is one of the players Spurs will listen to offers for at the end of the season.
It is explained that cashing in on Rodon would free up a spot on Tottenham’s foreign player list, thus helping the North London club to keep their non-homegrown players within the stipulated number ahead of next season.
Tottenham will likely want to make back the fee they paid for Rodon in 2020 with Leeds United and Newcastle United on alert to sign the 24-year-old ace.
