Tottenham striker Richarlison will miss next Wednesday’s visit to Manchester United because of a calf injury he sustained in Spurs’ 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday.

Tottenham’s Richarlison left the stadium on crutches and in tears after suffering a calf problem against his former club Everton.

With just five weeks to go until the World Cup gets underway, the Brazil international looked emotional as he spoke in Portuguese.
Speaking after the Everton victory, Conte confirmed that the Brazilian will sit out the midweek trip to Old Trafford.
“Yeah for sure he’s out against Manchester United, for sure. He felt something in his calf and he won’t be available for that game. I don’t know but I think he needs a bit of time to recover. It’s a pity because we are talking about a player that gives us a lot of quality but at the same time also is strong and he improves our intensity.” Conte said.
Richarlison is supposedly having a scan tomorrow on his injured calf and the result of that scan could go a long way towards whether or not he’ll be playing. A light enough injury could mean he only misses a week or so of game time. A more severe one could put him out for a month or longer.

This leaves Antonio Conte short of attacking options ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Manchester United. Dejan Kulusevski is also out with an injury, though it’s possible he could return to the lineup in the near term.
But the possibility exists now that Spurs could kick off on Wednesday against Manchester United without two significant offensive talents.

“The problem with Kulusevski also needs time to recover. Fingers crossed for the next games because we have to play many many games in a short period. If you have the squad penalised with injuries it becomes a bit difficult but today we showed that we are ready to overcome every difficulty.” Conte said in his post match conference.
The another injury blow in the forward line may convince Conte it is time to commit to an extra man in midfielder.
He has dabbled with the 352 alternative at times already this season, starting in this shape at Brighton last weekend and, when Richarlison was forced off, midfielder Yves Bissouma was the substitute summoned to replace him.
