Antonio Conte on Tottenham  top four finish and the club ambitions.

The Lilywhites are eight points off fourth place Man United and have three games in hand, meaning there is still a good chance of them securing a top four place.

However, Tottenham’s latest two league fixtures were made up of poor performances which led them to defeats against both Southampton and Wolves.

In an interview with beIN Sports,Conte said:

“Yeah and in the in the past I always say that I have to feel one per cent the possibility to win, in this case, to win the league,”

“For sure here the situation [is] strange because I feel the one per cent of possibility to have the ambition to finish fourth because the situation is totally different, because this league is very high and there is not a lot of space for other teams than the top teams.”

Because the level is high and you know that in this league every single team want to improve,” Conte added. ”

Not only Tottenham, but Arsenal and Leicester and West Ham and Aston Villa and Newcastle but also teams like Brighton, like Wolverhampton – they want to improve and in this moment we have to fight with these teams, not with the top teams

“It’s important not [to] be scared about the situation now but we need to then decide to fight this situation to try to the build again.

“For sure, for me it’s a totally different situation [compared to] my past,” the Italian added.

Conte speaks about his usual ambition being the league title but his honest admission reveals that the aim this season is a top four spot and a transfer warning to Tottenham’s board in the summer to try and compete again.
