Dennis Zakaria is a transfer target for Manchester United and Bayern Munich according to transfer reports.
According to a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, Juventus and two English clubs are all in contact with Borussia Mönchengladbach regarding midfielder Denis Zakaria.
The primary reason that Bayern Munich is targeting Zakaria is because of the versatility he has to play both defensive midfield and center-back as reported by. Bild.
Bayern are serious again about Denis Zakaria. He’s the player mentioned who can play as defensive midfielder and centre-back [@cfbayern]
At 25-years-old, Zakaria is entering his prime and stands at 1.91 meters (6 feet, 2 inches), which puts him at a good size to transition into Bayern Munich’s lineup at either position
Also, Zakaria is a target for Manchester United as Ralf Rangnick searches for a new central midfield to boost his squad, with the Swiss international having starred in the Bundesliga.
Zakaria has become one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga since joining Gladbach in 2017 from Swiss Super League giants Young Boys and is a regular starter for Adi Hutter’s side.
His contract expires in the summer but Eberl has admitted that Zakaria is free to depart this month.
“There’s nothing on my desk,” the Gladbach sporting director told Kicker
“It’s not surprising that there is speculation about Denis, but it’s no longer our topic.
“He still have a half year of contract. But we have also said again and again that if something comes up that we have to deal with for financial reasons.
Zakaria is a free agent at the end of the season and Gladbach might be looking to get something for the midfielder rather than risk losing him for free in July:
