Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has issued update on Bruno Guimaraes, Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson injury.

Following the goalless draw with Crystal Palace, Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe was asked whether his side would have won the game with the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Bruno Guimaraes and Callum Wilson in the side.
“Hypothetical, but yeah, we’ve got a higher chance of winning the game, because they’re top-quality players,” Howe responded. “You take those three players out of any team, the team will suffer.
“That’s why they’re so important to us. In a game like today, you’re at home and looking for that moment of magic and brilliance to win us the game. I thought the moments were there, it was just the finish that was missing. It just wasn’t going to go in.”
Ahead of the clash against AFC Bournemouth, Eddie Howe said Allan Saint-Maximin, Bruno Guimaraes and Callum Wilson are all still touch and go for the clash.
Newcastle Injury Update: Allan Saint-Maximin, Bruno Guimaraes and Callum Wilson.
None of the trio have been spotted training so far this week but it is understood that Bruno is feeling “better” after picking up a hamstring injury away to Tranmere in the League Cup.
Howe said: “Everybody has improved. But I will leave my team news to the time we get it. It has been a slightly difficult period but hopefully we care coming out of that. They are big players we need them back in the team.”
Newcastle’s game with West Ham last weekend was postponed due to the tremendously sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Howe reflected: “Naturally when you have injuries like we did have, more time is beneficial but the circumstances around that game being cancelled were immensely sad.”
Since then Newcastle have also been rocked by a further injury to Karl Darlow with Loris Karius coming in to replace him.
Howe said: “The injury to Darlow is a real strange one. He was just training with the goalkeepers and twisted an ankle. So, of course, with that news and the squad being open at that stage we decided it was wise to bring in somebody with more experience to complement the keepers we have.”
Loris was the outstanding candidate when we looked at the goalkeepers available to us. He is a really good age and has had some incredible experiences in his career.”
The Magpies have made a decent start to the 2022-23 Premier League campaign with seven points from their opening six games – winning one, drawing four and losing one.
