Dejan Kulusevski hailed Tottenham’s teammate Harry Kane after heroics performance against Brighton
Dejan Kulusevski has suggested that the ability that Harry Kane has is amazing as he lauded the striker following his Tottenham Hotspur debut on Saturday according to The Telegraph.
Kulusevski was introduced ahead of the final stages of their FA Cup tie with Brighton.
It was the Stockholm born first appearance for Spurs following his loan move during the January transfer window.
Antonio Conte threw the 21-year-old on with the home side 3-1 ahead against the Seagulls.
Kane scored twice for Spurs as they progressed into the fifth round of the FA Cup, with Kulusevski revealing how impressed he was with the “amazing” England captain.
“What impressed me was his technique, the way he stops the ball and the way he changes the whole pitch with his passes,” Kulusevski said.
It is amazing, really. I know that when he has the ball, I have to run because he will find me.”
Kulusevski hoping to form partnership with Harry Kane at Tottenham
Dejan Kulusevski, 21, wants to strike up a partnership with new Tottenham teammate Harry Kane – thanks to words of wisdom from Andrea Pirlo.
And having learned from Italy legend and former Juve coach Pirlo during his time in Turin, Kulusevski believes he can become striker Kane’s creator-in-chief.
“Pirlo is a fantastic coach and a fantastic guy,” he said.
“I spoke with him nearly every day and he always spoke to me a lot about how I should shape my body and how I can look for passes without showing the opposition where I am going to play the ball
“And that is exactly what I hope will help me to help Harry even more in the future.”
What Antonio Conte said
Antonio Conte said it was important both men got a taste of English football.
It was important also to breathe the atmosphere for the two new signings, for us, for Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur,” he said.
“It was important to come in and to understand the intensity of this league. I repeat, two good players, two young players with talent. They can help us.
“Rodrigo, despite his age, only 24 years old, has a lot of experience because he played 120 games for Juventus. Kulusevski, the same. I think they can help us.
I’m pleased that I gave them the opportunity to come in and also breathe this fantastic atmosphere in our stadium.
Our fans, the noise tonight was so intense that it was also very difficult to communicate with the players.”
Verdicts
It is too soon to work out whether Kulusevski will be a success at Tottenham.
He had some bright moments against Brighton and should have had an assist for Steven Bergwijn.
What he has got is a proven track record in Serie A.
He had 30 goals involvements in 94 games in that competition. And that is a remarkable record given his age.
It would be huge for Tottenham if Kulusevski can build a relationship with Kane and Son.
The latter two already have an incredible understanding, as shown by their amazing record as a pairing.
