Erling Haaland kicked off his season in typical fashion, he has started the 2021/22 season as he undoubtedly means to go on, scoring a hat-trick in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-0 victory away to Wehen Wiesbaden in the DFB Cup first round.
Haaland scored 41 goals in 41 games in his first full season at Borussia Dortmund, as Dortmund finished third in Bundesliga and won the DFB Pokal.

Haaland opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Dortmund captain Marco Reus put him clean through on goal and he doubled Dortmund’s lead from the penalty spot. Haaland completed his hat-trick in the 51st minute, eventually getting the better of Florian Stritzel after the goalkeeper denied his first effort.
