Allan Saint-Maximin has suffered a setback in his return from a hamstring injury and is set to miss Newcastle’s crucial run of three matches in a week, Daily Mail understands.

The Frenchman will be absent when the Magpies travel to Old Trafford on Sunday and is likely to remain sidelined for Wednesday’s visit of Everton and next weekend’s trip to Spurs.
Saint-Maximin had only just returned from six weeks out when coming on as a substitute during last Saturday’s 5-1 win over Brentford.

According to Daily Mail, his latest problem is linked to the same injury, although the irritation is not thought to be too serious.
His absence will be a big blow for Eddie Howe’s side, who have climbed to sixth in the Premier League on the back of successive victories against Fulham and Brentford, with star players such as Bruno Guimaraes and Callum Wilson returning from injury in recent weeks.
Saint-Maximin is another of those game-changers who make a difference when in the team, but he has a history of hamstring issues and has started only four of Newcastle’s 10 matches this season.
