Tottenham Hotspur are amongst the clubs most interested in signing Joe Gomez with the Liverpool defender ready to leave the club this summer, according to a report from 90min.
Gomez has really struggled for game-time with the Reds this season as he has been limited to just one Premier League start and currently behind the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konaté in the pecking order.

Gomez was first-choice the previous season before a knee injury ruled him out, which cost him his place in England’s European Championship squad and with the World Cup later this year, he is keen to move this summer to boost his chances of making the England squad.
Earlier last month, Jurgen Klopp did admit he is spoilt for choice with his squad and feels sorry for Gomez, whose playing time this season has been curtailed.
“It’s really unlucky for Joe, he has consistently played on an incredible level and has been one of the best centre-halves in England, but then the big injury came and little injuries on top of that,” the Liverpool boss said.
“The only thing I can say as well, there are tougher things than being a squad player at the moment for Liverpool.
“It is never nice for the players, I understand that 100 per cent, but Joe takes it really professionally. He is a young lad and everything will be fine in the future but at the moment, it’s for sure harder.”
Despite Klopp’s hopes that Gomez will stay, 90min understands the defender wants to move, although he does have two years left on his current deal and will carry a hefty price tag.

With Gomez ready to leave the Merseyside, it’s understand that Tottenham are one of the biggest team keen to land the 24-year-old defender.
Fabrizio Romano has already suggested that Tottenham will definitely sign a centre-back this summer with the Italian not impressed with Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon in back three and there has been more of a question mark over Ben Davis this season leaving only Eric Doer and Christian Romero as the established CBs.

Gomez is still only 24 years of age and has made 135 appearances for Liverpool – and that is with the large majority of the last two seasons spent on the sidelines, signing him would be a huge statement of intent from Tottenham as he is the type of ball-carrier missing in Spurs back three.
