TOTTENHAM are gearing up for what many expect to be a busy final few days in the January transfer window.
Tottenham are yet to make their first signing of the January transfer window but things certainly appear to be heating up behind the scenes.
It has been a remarkably quiet window for Tottenham considering Conte’s willingness to discuss the shortfalls of his own squad.
With a matter of days left to sew up arrivals and departures, Antonio Conte and sporting director Fabio Paratici are likely to go about their business with a sense of urgency until Monday’s deadline.
Rumours suggest that new faces in north London depend on others making way first but even that has proven difficult thus far.
Spurs may soon be forced to cave in on their demands for the likes of Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Matt Doherty if their departures are crucial to locking down Conte’s desired recruits.
With numerous deals rumoured to be in the pipeline. However, we delve into three stories that could gather pace over the next few days:

Tottenham have been locked in talks with Porto over Diaz this week, with the Premier League club said to be willing to pay up to £46m.
Sources in Portugal suggest Spurs are prepared to offer £37.6m up front for Diaz, with an additional £8.4m in performance-related add-ons.
However, according to the reports today, Liverpool are exploring the chance of bringing Luiz Diaz to Anfield
“Liverpool are more than considering Luis Diaz. I think they’re expecting to sign him now, which would be an amazing coup. They were heavily linked with him for a number of weeks. He played against them twice this season, home and away for Porto in the Champions League this season,” David Orstein said on Sky Sports.
In the couple of hours ago, Italian Journalist Fabrizio tweeted
FC Porto have received Liverpool official bid for Luís Diaz. €40m guaranteed fee plus €25m bonuses. Deal entering in final stages between clubs. 🔴🇨🇴 #LFC
Diaz is currently in South America with Colombia – Liverpool want to be plan and be prepared for potential medical there.
The 25-year-old was the joint top-scorer in last summer’s Copa America and has consistently impressed for Porto this season.
A dynamic player who is capable of scorching the left flank and one of the most exciting wingers in European football.
Conte’s Amrabat belief
Fabrizio Romano has told Matt Hayes’ YouTube channel that Antonio Conte is convinced about Sofyan Amrabat amidst rumoured Tottenham interest.

Sky Sport Italia reported this week that Tottenham had identified Amrabat as a potential midfield reinforcement, should record-signing Tanguy Ndombele leave in January.
Viola News then claimed that Spurs had come to an agreement with Fiorentina to sign the midfield enforcer on a loan deal with an option to buy in the summer.
Tottenham in talks with Fiorentina over Sofyan Amrabat move
Romano has claimed that Amrabat is the top choice midfield target for Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte, but only once Spurs complete some outgoings, such as Ndombele.
The Italian also commented that Amrabat was one of the best midfielders in Serie A during his time with Verona, but has fallen out of favour at Fiorentina due to a change in manager.
As such, Conte sees this as a good opportunity to secure a player who is perfect for his ideas and perfect for the Premier League.
Traore alternative targets
Spurs refused to match up to Wolves’ £25m valuation, the Catalan side closed in and an initial loan with a hefty option to buy looks set to be signed and sealed.
According to The Athletic, Tottenham have identified ‘alternative targets’ to fall back on as they seek to bolster their wing-back options.
Middlesbrough youngster Djed Spence may be one, but seeing as he would have to complete his season-long loan with Nottingham Forest before linking up with the Lilywhites.

The MOTM winner against Tottenham’s rival Arsenal in the FA CUP is also on the list of ‘alternative target’
However, this isn’t the first time Djed Spence will be linked with Tottenham. The 21 years – old defender was a prime target during the Mou’s era- the bid which later failed to materialize.
