Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright is a huge fan of the full-back, and revealed he approached Spence after Forest’s third round win over Arsenal to praise his performance.

“I saw him after the game and said ‘listen, my friend. You’re on loan from Middlesbrough and I don’t know what’s happened there, because if you can’t get into the Middlesbrough side, I don’t know what’s wrong, so I need to know the full story’,” he said on the Wrighty’s House podcast

“But let me say, that was one of the best right back performances I have seen for a very long time. A very long time.”If we are talking about right-backs performing at an unbelievable level, we’re talking Reece James and Trent (Alexander-Arnold).

Middlesbrough value Spence at around £12 million according to the Evening Standards as the the 21-year-old, who has been making waves at Forest so far this season wants his future sort April/May.

What clubs are interested in Djed Spence?

Tottenham are thought to be leading the race for Spence ahead of the summer transfer window, with Antonio Conte on keen on solving his right wing-back issue.

Spurs are understood to have made a bid to land Spence during the January window of 2022, as the English right-back certainly fits Spurs’ current system and will thrive playing a more attacking role for the north Londoners.

However, They face stern competition from London rivals Arsenal who are impressed with Spence after a MOTM performance in Nottingham Forest shock victory over Arsenal in FA Cup third round.

Likewise also, as reported by Calciomercato, Bayern Munich have also joined the hunt for Djed Spence and are ready to rival widespread interest from Premier League clubs.

Italian giants Roma and Inter Milan are also watching developments closely as the 21-year-old has caught the eye with his recent performances.

It remains to be seen if Spence is attracted by the prospect of leaving England for Germany and if he would turn down approaches from Premier League teams. But for now, Tottenham remain in pole position, although things will be clearer as we approach the summer transfer window.
