Arsenal missed the opportunity to go 8 points clear of Manchester City on Saturday lunchtime after suffering a painful 1-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison. They welcome Thomas Frank’s men to the Emirates in a ‘must win’ match on Saturday.

Here’s an update on  injury news at Arsenal:

Reiss Nelson

Reiss Nelson is back in training after suffering a hamstring injury during 2-0 defeat to Juventus in friendly and is expected to be among the squad to face Brentford on Saturday.

Expected return date: February 11th against Brentford.

Emile Smith Rowe

Smith Rowe has been struggling with injuries this season and has had limited time on the field.

He was left out of the latest match against Everton due to injury setback, and it remains to be seen whether he would be ready for the match against Brentford on Saturday.

Mohamed Elneny

Elneny started in the FA Cup win over Oxford United and played the full 90 minutes.

He was not included in the squad for the win at Tottenham due to a knee issue picked up in training.

He recently underwent successful surgery for a significant injury to his right knee and will be out for an extended period of time, but no specific date has been given yet.

Gabriel Jesus

Jesus suffered a medial ligament injury while playing for Brazil in the World Cup.

He underwent surgery and is expected to be out for another month or two of action.

He recently posted on Instagram, showing himself back on the training pitch, and is said to be making progress in his recovery.

Manager Arteta stated that he is a bit far from returning but is working hard and pushing for a fast return.

Expected return date: February / March 2023.
