Tottenham Djed Spence.

Italian journalist ‘transfer guru’ Romano Fabrizio has provided the latest transfer update on Tottenham’s RWB links amid Djed Spence speculation.

Signing a right wing-back has always been Tottenham’s priority ever since Antonio Conte became Tottenham head coach. The move for Adama Traore failed to materialize in January, and Conte had to rely on Matt Doherty, and Emerson Royal after the former injury to guide Tottenham to a comfortable top four finish.

Spence has been linked to a move to Spurs for a while now. But the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement over the fee for the 21-year-old right-back. It is claimed that Boro wants at least £20million for the talented young right-back, which Tottenham are yet to meet.

Speaking exclusively on on Caught offside, Romano Fabrizio provided an update on Tottenham’s RWB links, and Djed Spence situation.

Right-back is another of the club’s priorities, and I can reveal that the Djed Spence deal has never collapsed despite some reports to the contrary, but it is still waiting for an official proposal to reach an agreement with Middlesbrough.

Still, Paratici has three options on the list for that position, even though Spence is among the most popular. This will be one to keep an eye on, but the club have decent backup plans in case it doesn’t work out.”

The news was out simultaneously with Cockerel exclusive where they made that -” “Paratici will be back in Italy soon to evaluate some RWB options and That’s why we haven’t finalized Spence yet- to see if a better more experienced RWB option is possible.”

Out of possible RWBs in Italy is Udinese right back Nahuel Molina, who has once been linked with a move to Tottenham. Udinese are ready to part way with the experience 25-year-old RB if they receive suitable offer.

Antonio Conte has been revamping his Spurs side this summer, having already signed four players, with Clement Lenglet loan deal imminent.

Our Opinion.

It remains to be seen whom Tottenham would really sign. But, signing an homegrown Djed Spence would really help Tottenham balance the HG instead of inflating the wages bill to bring in Jesse Lingard on a free transfer, just to fill in the HG quota.
