Christian Eriksen latest news
Christian Eriksen return to Tottenham has suffered a major hit according to the latest reports.
The Denmark International has been heavily linked with a return to the N17 following the expiration of his contract at Brentford with Tottenham coach Antonio Conte particularly keen on the reunion with the 30-year-old after impressive season together at Inter Milan.
Eriksen returns to football after the cardiac arrest he suffered at the Euros last year and has made it a successful one with Brentford, and on international duty with Brentford with a string of impressive performances.
However, despite being linked with a return to Tottenham, they have not followed up their interest yet over a free transfer for Christian Eriksen according to Alasdair Gold via Football.london
football.london understands that Spurs were in contact with Eriksen’s camp about a potential return just a couple of weeks ago but have not followed that up since, with United, Everton, Newcastle, Leicester, West Ham, Brentford also having made contact about the midfielder, as well as Ajax and one unnamed La Liga side.
With his family settled in London, there had been some suggestions that the Dane was initially keen to remain in the capital, but that is not thought to be the only case at this point with so many options on the table for the experienced Premier League midfielder.
It remains to be seen, but Eriksen return could prove to be Spurs biggest leverage allowing Antonio Conte to pursue the other targets – Right wing back, Left Centre-back and Harry Kane understudy- after completing the deal for Yves Bissouma from Brighton on a five years deal.
