Tottenham set to miss out on AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie as Barcelona preparing to offer him a contract worth €6.5m a year according to reports.
Kessie is a player Spurs chief Fabio Paratici ‘knows well’ from his time in Italy and according to Telegraph during the winter window, the North Londoners are ready to offer him significant wage package and transfer bonus.
However, according to Gianluca Di Mario today, Barcelona have stepped things up recently and have made an offer to Kessie. The Catalans are apparently willing to pay him €6.5 million a year if he agrees to make the move to the Camp Nou this summer.

The midfielder was booed during Milan’s 1-0 San Siro win over Sampdoria. ‘Those who love Milan prove it with facts, best regards to those who are dissatisfied.’
The Ivorian is out of contract in the summer and expected to move on, attracting interest from both Premiership clubs – Tottenham & Manchester United with Spanish giants Barcelona also keen on signing the midfielder.
Kessie has evolved into one of the best midfielders in Serie A since his move to Milan from Atalanta in the summer of 2017.
The 25-year-old has seen his profile skyrocket in recent seasons having established himself as a mainstay in a Milan side that has been challenging for the Serie A title since last season.
However, his future at San Siro has been a topic of heavy speculation since last summer as he entered the final year of his contract. With just four months left on his deal, Milan have been unable to convince him to pen an extension.

It seems like Kessie hasn’t yet decided on his next move but he wants his future wrapped up pretty soon and is tempted to play for Barcelona as the Blaugrana have been in talks with the player’s entourage for a while now and the next few days could be “decisive” when it comes to the midfielder’s future.
Given that his market value is believed to be around €50 million, bringing Kessie on a free transfer would be no short of a coup for any team. Kessie is a player who can tick a variety of boxes, probably best known as a holding midfielder.
